Please help my mom to not beat herself up. -My 12 year old son’s prayer this morning
My son sees it in me; he sees me beating myself up everyday.
It can be so hard to travel through this life especially with little eyes watching you.
I want so badly to live well and love better. I want to show him what it is like to live broken and given to others.
When we engage in the healing process we can confidently emerge into our own lives with the energy and vitality to create what we desire without shame or guilt, but with passion, power, joy, confidence and love. -Bethany Webster
The nagging guilt has eaten me away for years. Trying to prove my worth and earn my place in this one life I have been given has left me drained and unsure of who I really am.
I need time and space to process this all… this midlife spiritual awaking. Knowing deep in my soul there is more to this one life I have been given than numbing and avoiding the healing process.
We all have these deep roots that can ground us and yet, some have damaged roots that are slowly killing their authenticity.
Avoiding the tough conversations.
If we avoid dealing with the pain associated with THE most primary and foundational relationship in our lives, we are missing a pivotal opportunity to discover the truth of who we are and to authentically and joyfully live the truth.
Finding my way through this has led to judgment, blaming, condemnation and little to no empathy…which is the deepest longing of my heart.
Being heard, understood and given space to share is all a lot of us need. Finding someone to do this with can be a journey in itself and yet, it is a gift we can easily give to others.
Just seeing things through our own lens of life keeps us stuck however; when we begin to widen our view to understand another’s we can find grace, love and a depth of connection words can not describe.
Share without shame.
Block without guilt.
Live in the confidence of His love.
Find joy in the small moments of life.
Take time to find your true authentic self.
When we choose to engage in the healing process, we slowly remove the thick fog of projection that keeps us stuck and can clearly see, appreciate and love ourselves.
How are your beliefs changing in this season of life?
Are they growing or dissolving?
Are they maturing or disintegrating?
Father God help to hang onto the elements in our life that promote growth. Give us strength to cut off activities and relationships that cause us to sin and help us to replace them with ones that help us to grow. Amen!
